Coins.ph is a leading licensed fiat and crypto wallet services provider in Southeast Asia. We are expanding globally and seeking the right legal and regulatory talent to help us obtain financial and payment licenses in key markets in the EU.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Lawyer, EU Product to support our European fintech licensing and market expansion initiatives.
You will advise on regulatory frameworks (EMI, CASP/MiCA) and help transform legal and regulatory requirements into actionable business insights for strategic market entry.
Key Responsibilities

Advise on EU financial and fintech regulations, including EMI, CASP/MiCA, SEPA, and crypto frameworks
Advise and lead on EU regulatory matters: EMI/CASP and MiCA licensing
Advise on country-level regulatory landscapes, license timelines, and enforcement trends
Translate complex product structures and regulatory requirements / framework into clear, practical recommendations for business and product teams
Review commercial contracts and transactional agreements
Support internal teams in preparing for license applications and regulatory engagement

Requirements

3 to 5+ years of post-qualifying experience as a legal counsel or regulatory lawyer in fintech, payments, or digital assets. Trained at a top-tier law firm
Deep understanding of EU financial regulations (PSD2, EMD2/3, MiCA)
Strong analytical and communication skills; able to provide accurate and concise product structuring and regulatory related legal advices
Experience working cross-functionally with compliance, product, and strategy teams

Nice to Have

Experience with licensing projects (e.g., EMI, CASP, VASP)
Familiarity with SEPA access, TARGET2, stablecoin frameworks, and related policy developments
Previous experience engaging or liaising with EU regulators or central banks
