OverviewThe Civil Engineer oversees the operation and maintenance of civil infrastructure for Cairo Metro Line 3, ensuring the stations and tunnels\' efficient performance and technical compliance. This role involves supervising the work and performance of subcontractors, with a strong focus on safety, environmental regulations, and operational reliability. The supervisor will be responsible for maintaining the service\'s safety, availability, and comfort, ensuring the reliability of maintenance operations. Additionally, the role will support the introduction of new projects related to Capital investments, sustainability programs, and commercial initiatives linked to the line’s infrastructure.ResponsibilitiesMaintenance And Operations SupervisionSupervise and execute all levels of preventive, corrective, and minor modification activities for station and tunnel civil works.Perform regular inspections to monitor the maintenance and structural integrity of the stations, tunnels, and associated infrastructure.Ensure the smooth functioning of maintenance operations by overseeing activities such as painting, plumbing, structural treatments, floor/wall finishing, raised floor installation, and false ceiling work.Manage preventive maintenance schedules and ensure their execution in line with the established plans.Safety And Compliance ManagementEnforce compliance with all environmental and safety regulations, identifying and addressing any potential issues.Take accountability for the safety standards upheld by the team and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to industry norms.Inspect and monitor corrective maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and maintenance standards.Team and Subcontractor OversightSupervise and evaluate the performance of the in-house maintenance team and subcontractors, ensuring they meet key performance indicators (KPIs) and contractual requirements.Conduct performance reviews for subcontractors, focusing on the quality, efficiency, and timeliness of maintenance work, and ensure the proper closure of work orders once tasks are completed to satisfaction.Ensure all maintenance tools and equipment are properly calibrated, maintained, and available for use by the team and subcontractors.Inspect new stations taken over from warranty subcontractors and ensure the work meets the required standards and design specifications.Technical and Project ManagementParticipate in technical investigations and troubleshooting efforts as directed by maintenance management.Collaborate in the planning and execution of new projects and programs related to Cairo Metro Line 3, ensuring they are completed within budget, scope, and schedule.Prepare detailed reports and maintain records of all maintenance activities in the Maintenance Management System (MMS).Monitor the implementation of ongoing projects to ensure alignment with design and operational needs.Budget and Resource ManagementContribute to the development of the maintenance budget, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines and providing required inputs for budgeting and resource allocation.Manage the maintenance inventory, ensuring the availability of necessary materials and equipment.Oversee scrap management systems to ensure effective disposal and recycling procedures are followed.Reporting and DocumentationMaintain accurate and comprehensive records of maintenance activities, ensuring all data is updated in the MMS within 24 hours.Perform monthly technical inspections and document findings through checklists and detailed reports.Staff DevelopmentLead and mentor the team of Maintenance Technicians and workers, providing training, development, and support to ensure effective performance.Additional DutiesUndertake any other duties or tasks as assigned by the management team.QualificationsEssential Qualifications, Knowledge & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.KnowledgeProficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).In-depth understanding of civil engineering principles, maintenance practices, and industry regulations.ExperienceAt least 3 years of experience in facility management focusing on civil work and maintenance infrastructure, particularly in large-scale infrastructure projects such as metro systems.Desired Behaviors & ExperiencesStrong technical expertise in civil engineering and maintenance management.Proven ability to use maintenance management software (CMMS) effectively.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to address maintenance challenges.Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.Physical stamina and manual dexterity for carrying out maintenance tasks as required.
