Description du poste

OverviewAlice & Bob is developing the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer to solve the world’s hardest problems. The quantum computer we envision is based on a new kind of superconducting qubit: the Schrödinger cat qubit, which can autonomously implement quantum error correction. We are at the forefront of the quantum race, competing with Google and IBM, and we are growing fast after securing €100 million of funding in 2025. Currently 100+ employees and counting, including physicists, PhD students, engineers and experienced business professionals, are united to reach our ambitious goal. Are you a quantum pioneer? Join us on a mission to reshape the future!Alice&Bob is building a quantum computer based on cat qubits. We are expanding from academic cleanrooms to our own prototyping cleanroom in Ile de France (construction started, operation beginning 2026). This facility will allow to:• Speed up the design iteration cycle by reducing the lead time of chip fabrication• Improve the capability of Alice&Bob nanofabrication processes (improving performance and mastering 3D integration)RoleAs part of the Quantum Hardware department, the “nanofabrication backend” team will operate and develop the “backend of line” used for manufacturing the Alice&Bob Quantum Processor. Technically, this encompasses:Room temperature electrical testingDicingOptical inspectionWirebonding of chips inside sample holdersThe team is in charge of:Operating the tools for the regular delivery of test chipsDeveloping/improving new processes (for better quality/leadtime/chip selection)Overseeing its own tools (daily check of the tools, ensuring maintenance schedules are followed, first level troubleshooting)Selection, installation and qualification of new toolsAs nanofabrication backend technician, you will play a key role in bringing into reality the QPU designs imagined by the company. Your technicity and attention to detail will directly contribute to our technical excellence and speed of execution, shaping the future of quantum computing. We are seeking a technician with a background in backend / electrical tests in semiconductor/superconductor processes to join our team.ResponsibilitiesExecute the day-to-day operations, which include:Room temperature electrical testing of wafers and chipsDicingOptical inspectionWirebonding of chips inside sample holdersAssembly of sample holdersProcess development: Contribute to the R&D tests for improving the process/recipes, keeping up with the latest technological progress.Tools responsibility: Be responsible for one or several tools of the team (following preventive maintenance plan and managing corrective/troubleshooting when necessary). This includes the responsibility of training new users on the tool if necessary.Continuous Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement projects in the team (troubleshooting, A3, failure analysis)Documentation & Reporting: Ensure standard operation procedures stay up-to-date, and document the operations and results obtained.Contribute to specific projects of the department (examples: assembly and start of operation of new cryostats, hook up and qualification of new tools)RequirementsEducational Background: BSc in a related field (DUT “Electronique”, “Mesures physiques”, “Genie industriel et maintenance” or equivalent)Experience: minimum 3 years of experience as laboratory or operation technician in an industrial or R&D environment. Experience in a semiconductor, electronic, or cryogenic environment is considered a plus.Experience in one part of our backend process (wirebonding, dicing, electrical testing) is considered a plus.Nice to have: Rigorous, strong adherence to processes, autonomous, proactive in continuous improvement, ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team, troubleshooting hardware issuesEnglish = intermediate (required to communicate with the Alice&Bob team and suppliers)Benefits25-day vacation policy (as per French law) + RTTHalf of transportation cost coverage (as per French law), or yearly allowance for bike usersCompetitive health benefits with Helium/AxaMeal vouchers with Swile and access to a fully equipped kitchenParental benefits with crèche supportFlexible remote policy, up to 40% a monthLanguage courses covered by the companyMental health support with moka.careSubsidized membership with Urban Sports ClubRecruitment ProcessScreening Call with Talent Acquisition Specialist (30 min)Hiring Manager Interview with one of the Experimentalist Team Leaders (45 min)Technical Interview/Presentation with the Team (60 min)Leadership and Fit Interview (45 min)You will join one of the most innovative startups in France at an early stage, to be part of a passionate and friendly team on its mission to build the first universal quantum computer. We love to share and learn from one another, so you will be certain to innovate, develop new ideas, and have the space to grow. This is an opportunity to contribute to a cutting-edge field and be part of a dynamic, collaborative team.
